What the what??????? How is it October already. Where did summer go and why is my down comforter on my bed already. Another quick summer. Lots of traveling, and lots of big things. East Coast Surfing Championships in Virginia Beach. Over 150,000 people during that weekend. insane. Straight to Puerto Rico. Always a great time. great work great people great scenery Tanner Jam estimated 400 people in attendance over the course of the 2 days. Downtown Showdown. Sheeeeeshhhh. Probably one of the most amazing concepts for a contest ever!!! Enough said peep the pics.

One of my best friends Josh passed away yesterday. Weve known eachother for about 15 years. First met at his parents house. I had a blonde afro and a big silver bubble jacket. He thought I was a thug until I opened my mouth and voiced how I was siked that he was Jewish too. Hes like this guys a teddy bear hes no thug. We had such an awesome friendship we could tell eachother anything. Even if it was harsh we knew it was with love. An incredible DJ and an amazing friend. Smiles and good times whenever hes around. We had some crazy and late nights in the Houston St apt. It was the size of a closet and I would stay over there quit often to eliminate the train ride home from work. Road Trips. Stopping at a fireworks warehouse last year Josh says... and I quote " I only want to get like bottle rockets and firecrackers.YEAHHH RIGHTTT!! An hour later the vehicle is filled to the top with about 800 dollars worth of explosives. Listening to music, filling up the ipod. Going out at night. A Tim McGraw cologne release party? Dude this stuff smells like cow shit and leather boots. We both had a man crush on him.Seinfeld,Gossip Girls,Transformers. nerd alert nerd alert. hahaha. Sooo many memories my mind cant even think of right now.
.Man Im gonna miss him so much my heart is numb. Ive never felt this way in my life. There is another angel up in the skies. His name is DJ Josh Link and hes playing bangin tunes for everyone to smile and dance to.
I love you man and will miss you an infathomable amount.

Vans Coastal Edge Block Party Virginia Beach

The 2nd annual Vans x Coastal Edge block party took place this weekend. Always an awesome time when fellow Vans employees come out from the West coast to show love. Mr Dave Durfey our New England VM came and swooped me up and the drive began. Random run in with Denny(one of our reps)on the road. Stopped and chatted for a second. Fun event, lots of people. Team signing from Cardiel, Alva, Massimo Cavadoni and even Rowley. Cards playing dice games with people, Rowley playing games of skate in confined spaces with kids. Fashion show, mini ramp, music, brrrrs, a dude with a fake back tat that says hottie = Good times!!

We had the Warped Tour here on LI on July 18th. Stopped by for a little bit to check out the scene. Saw one of the most positive hard working people Mr. Bob Provost who works on the events side for Vans.
Interesting scenes; Lack of clothing, Body paint messages, medical tent filled with crying little girls, random cameo from Little Jon, and 3OH3. You guys might have just picked up 2 new fans.

Monday night bowling

Stones and Bones. Back on the lanes. Its been a while since I have been in a bowling league. For some of you that dont know, I used to be an avid bowler since I was around 4. Leauges, Tournaments the whole shabang. Your reading a blog from the 1991 New York State Champion right here. Thats right. So I guess bowling is like riding a bike for me. Sometimes you hit a bump in the road but most of the time its flowy. Kids got a 220 average right now. Not to shabby. Call me Sargent Striker. So siked to be bowling again.

4th of July Beach Bums and Fireworks

4th of July is one of my favorite days of the year. Big fan of fireworks. Ask me what my favorite smell is. The smell of fireworks. The day started off with good friends and relaxation at the beach for like 5 hours. Cruised back to Lisa and Stevens house for a little BBQ then off to see the fireworks in the city. If youve never done this before get ready for insanity. The streets are mobbed with thousands of people. Not for people with social anxieties. After the fireworks we went and partied at the Maritime hotel. A great day!!!

PA all day amish friends and farms

Just did a 5 day trip all over PA all the way to Pittsburgh. Man is it far away. Lots of driving. Great scenery. Farms for days corn as far as the eye can see. Horse and buggies amish town and cities with some crazy ass names such as: Titsville, Intercourse, Bird in Hand, Blue balls. Really? Driving through the mountains is super nice.

Virginia Beach Trip

Took a work trip to VB 2 weeks ago to help out with the territory. So many shops in such a small area. Some of the shops are huge and are amazing supporters of Vans. Had a great time and a successful trip.
VB is a weird place. Filled with military steez, all day long fighter jets fly overhead and so rudely interupt your friendly conversations with people.
Signs on the street that tell you not to curse. FUCK that shit. And cars burning. My flight was delayed 3 hours so we took a trip into Norfolk which was really nice.
VB Ill see you in a week again for the VansxCoastal Edge block party.

Year 2 for this event. Headed out to Bethlehem PA for the annual Amateur Athlete event. Good times. We had a big crew out which was awesome. 3 car loads 8 riders killing it on the set up. Unfortunately guess what... It rained. spent 8 hours in the truck to be there for 2 hours. Oh well we tossed out a butt load of product the kids were siked thats all that really matters. Thanks to all our riders that came out.

June 27 2009 MADNESSS!!! As always...Cottle and I took a drive down to Black Diamond Mountain Sports, a shop in Moorestown NJ. They were having a "Skatefest". We checked out the scene,hooked them up with a grip of schwag and started making our way back up to BK to hit up KCDC for the culmination of go skate day. The scene was craze. Hundreds of kids lining the streets skating and waiting for what else????....... FREE SHIT as they were screaming as we were about to toss product off the roof of KCDC. Thats right the roof. Id say a good 4 stories high we proceeded to throw tees glasses decks of cards and decks. WOW. Safe... I think not. Fun.... I think so. It was awesome. You better stand strong in a NY product toss. Youll get punched in the face from some kid trying to snatch that board you just caught. Hit up the BQE spot after well quick then caught a dope shot of the most amazing skyline ever..

Ft Lauderdale to Miami

Last week I took a trip to Florida to well and help break in our new SE visual merchansider Cullen. Good guy. Hit up a bunch of shops(IWS, MIA) met some good peoples. And apparently the rain followed me down there too. After a 104 degree day there were some serious thunderstorms. We went to this crazy hunting and fishing store. The whole place was set up like an underwater ship wreck. This shop that had a flowrider wave in it.
Apparently in FL you can gamble on the game of Jai Alai so there are signs on the streets telling you where you can get that accomplished. Ran into a random girl kitted out in Vans. Thanks lady!

So maybe this is what the biblical flood really is. Its rained over 9 inches in the month of may. The average... drum roll please.........3. The grass is green the flowers are blooming but my hair is all messed up from all this rain. Events cancelled left and right. This month has taken me through NY NJ PA DE W.VA VA MD and trip to Florida and tomorrow Virginia Beach. Finally got to see my homeboys' shop Pitcrew. What up Tim and Mal. Best shop in the area. Super good peoples. So glad we got to stop in.

Its inevitable that Im going to run into traffic due to construction but usually an accident. Heres a pic of the rain conditions yesterday that had me sitting in an hour of traffic. A few of us went to the Huntington Town Hall yesterday for a meeting and rap out session with the designer of the park to give him our 2 cents to tweek things and make the flow of the park the best it can be which I might say is going to be pretty friggin sick. It is going to be located in the town of Greenlawn. Im not. gonna lie I expected there to be mad heads out for this, being such a monumentous day for Long Island skateboarding. So when you get a plan you might not be too fond of....suck it.

People from out of town always ask me. "What is Long Island like all farms". No dummy. Not unless you go way out east to the Hamptons and Sag Harbor. Farm land, wineries, buffalo. Its a whole nother world out there. Super relaxing, Rich C suckers, huge houses and alot of hooty tootiness. And while all that is going on you can find your hard working day laborers hanging out on the corner looking for some work. Two opposite ends of the spectrum.
